Match Game

I was laughing at the word "bisexual,"
heard on Match Game. I was six, seven,
maybe eight. Mom asked if I knew
what it meant, and I had to admit that I
didn't. She explained, "It's someone who
likes both boys and girls." And paused
before adding, "It's against the Catholic
Church." I wondered why such open-
heartedness would merit the veto
of the Sancta Ecclesia, although of course
I didn't have such language then
to dress my doubts and questions in.

According to the people who claim to know Him best, God just has strong opinions about certain things. He seems to be a hidebound old prick.

As you know, I never mean any disrespect with my views, but it makes me very sad that such education is passed on to children :( It's so damaging, so wrong... almost feels like child abuse in some respects. You're not meant to teach children to exclude others, especially not on the basis of personal things such as sexuality. And presented as if they were the rules and expectations from God, en plus... oh la la. Anyway, enjoyed this childhood snippet you presented here. If anyone had said that to me at that age, I'd have seriously wondered why this veto existed, too. And probably have irritated a further few church ladies lol ;)

They say out of the mouths of babes..... but the same thing could be said of their thoughts too. Mainly virgin and unsullied by external influence.

The object of this poetry points to that brilliantly.
