Match Game
I was laughing at the word "bisexual,"
heard on Match Game. I was six, seven,
maybe eight. Mom asked if I knew
what it meant, and I had to admit that I
didn't. She explained, "It's someone who
likes both boys and girls." And paused
before adding, "It's against the Catholic
Church." I wondered why such open-
heartedness would merit the veto
of the Sancta Ecclesia, although of course
I didn't have such language then
to dress my doubts and questions in.
