a dream of you

And I woke from my bed and found myself in a heavenly place
Birds chirping at my window, I open my door and am greeted with
A foggy smoke filling my kitchen, only coffee and bacon strongly scent the air
I know Iím not meant to go there, so I stop and turn and there I find you
Sitting in my living room, legs crossed and a smile so sweet
You look so beautiful just as you always do, so healthy too
You smiled at me and told me you would be ok
The sun shines so brightly it fills the room, I have to look away
Through my windows the light captures you and takes you away
Then I woke from my bed and I never saw you again.
Itís been 10 years since, and never ever have I found a dream like this

Lovely poem, L3fty. You create really clear images. Sad, isn't it? This loss. This grief. This loneliness that creeps in when triggered by unexpected things.
