Melissa sang a song and it really hurt my ears:

It was all about a clown in some old circus.

An awful tune like this can really wreck careers;

I think she sang it just so she could irk us!

Her dreadful caterwauling's

Such a pain!

It's like an ice-pick driven

Through my brain.

I'd tell her:

DON'T SING THAT SONG!

Just stifle your voice,

And give us a choice that's better.

When you wail and moan

A maudlin and mopey kind of tone.

Melissa wrecked the chorus and began the second verse,

And I really wasn't in the mood to hear it.

I was hoping that the music wouldn't get much worse,

So I prayed to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

Melissa isn't stopping,

So I frown:

Will someone tell this woman

To pipe down?

Melissa,

DON'T SING THAT SONG!

It's driving me mad;

It really is bad and brutal.

IT SOUNDS SO WRONG!

You've given your best,

But now we ask, please give it a rest.

DON'T SING THAT SONG!

Just put it on mute!

It's really not cute or cheerful.
