My "favourite colour" is the U in the British and Canadian spelling of "favourite" and "colour"!

For Steven, Who Asked Me My Favourite Colour

My favourite colour is the sound of Shara's voice, which had me weeping religious tears when I first heard it at a reading.

My favourite colour is the hugs I received from both halves of Young Sober Couple, who had me to dinner last Wednesday.

My favourite colour is Dylan Thomas thundering the masses of the sea.

My favourite colour is starlight. My favourite colour is forsythia in April. My favourite colour is Bangum calling Dad on his “bullshit.”

My favourite colour is Sheryl Crow singing “All I Wanna Do.”

My favourite colour is 1982, when Karen and Alisha were born.

My favourite colour is 1984, when Acadia and Elena were born.

My favourite colour is 1963 when (deep breath!) Mary, Hilary, Nancy, Stacey, Jennifer, Maureen, Sue, and Donna were born.

And 1970's a contender. That's when Lisa and the Woman From College and Dean Kate Moorehead were born.

My favourite colour is basking in the silence of chair-prayer.

My favourite colour is St James's Episcopal Church just outside Porter Square.

My favourite colour is Julia putting a hand to her heart and saying, "Oh, Tom, that poem!"

My favourite colour is the hazelnut of an English anchoress.

After talking with Uncle M. I've come to understand the meaning of the last line. I retract my shudder!

A delightful poem, rich in colour, much to savour.
