What the Rain Brings

The sound of rain on a fabric awning comforts.
Lives are forced to pause, and eyes, like camera
Lenses, take a broader, more indulgent, focus.
What was urgent has to wait.  What were obstacles
Turn into fascinating things themselves.  The world,
Even in the city, and its viewers, soften some.
The rain, which we know nurtures plants, appears
To bring improvements to the health of humans, too.

Oh so very true.
I don't know the reason why (if there is a specific one) but the sound of rain is often used as an aid for meditation, as it aids relaxation as your words imply.
I could use the warmth of the sun on my face just as well. ;)
