The Sun God Smiles on the Rained Out Valley

The sun god smiles on the rained-out valley
as the last remnants of the squeezed dry clouds
drift off quietly, hugging the hills goodbye.
Now nature's green has a slight wet tinge to it,
not for long, the sun god will dry it out,
will dry us out and in the last moments of day
the valley will shine bright till dusk gives way
and the night swallows us whole. Though we know this ending
It's still a bliss to watch unfold.

Lawrence Beck The PoetBay support member heart!
I don't have much to add to what the others have said. It's a very pleasant poem with some finely wrought phrases. Great work, Sameen.

Griffonner The PoetBay support member heart!
As I approached its ending I thought this poem was 'going somewhere else' - the twist made it a pleasant and highly descriptive read.
