Sentimental

All honour on you,

I call you mine, love,
Not any kind of fleeting butterfly, momentary love,
Or sheltered love until the storm passes,
No.

I call your name still, because,
After the explosive rush,
Came the groove, where we stayed, happily,
Where our wheels fit the tracks,
And clickety-clacked on.
Where the years of small things joined up,
To make us, Us.

Gone is the innocence of what lay ahead,
Two young people,
On their wedding day,
Gold dust settling on our naive shoulders
Our simple bonds became so tightly woven,
We have evidence, we are bulletproof,
We could tell of trials,
We are not unique in this, but,
Love, Fate, The Gods, whatever guides you,
Aligned me also,
And Love, you are part of the air I breathe,
The thoughts I ponder,
The words I speak,
I am yours, from the start, to the finish,
Because of you,

I am .

The kind of love you've written about here is the best. I want it so badly.

Griffonner The PoetBay support member heart!
This is such a lovely love poem. I am certain that Mrs 1LFD will appreciate it too.
There is a charm to this poem that not only tweaks at your heart strings, but also (for me) brought a smile to my face. Brilliant work.
