Across the Gulf

Across the Gulf I lie in wait.
Verses mused; intent, escape.

It's not a thing. It's not a place.
It's not the view, nor the space.
It's warmth and sweat and welcome
All engulfed by sweet embrace.

Across the Gulf I lie in wait.
Verses mused; intent, displace.

It's finding home in westward vista's.
Sunset's glamor finally tested.
Through the colors senses seldom
Find relief as when the thought of you is present.

Across the Gulf I lie in wait.
The view a ruse... the body's fate.

I love the construct of this, and the flow is really good too. A fine example of what I would describe as mystic verse, and yet there is, of course, as ever, the adoration of 'another' to bring it firmly down to Earth.
