The Parable of the Fruit-Stealing Deer

There are deer down the hill eating fruit
From my neighbor's trees.  If he knew,
I doubt that he'd mind, and he doesn't.
He's gone.  Am I watching a parable?
He, like some others, owns so much that
He can't keep track of it all, and, as a
Result, those who are lacking can take
What they need without causing my
Neighbor to feel any loss, and they should!
The hungry and homeless could finally
Find comfort if they helped themselves
To what's held by those few who don't
Even know what they own.
