Metamorphology

 I'm careful

to let my carelessness loose,

and careless enough

to allow carefulness to reign,

resulting in the bounties of ingenuity's surprises

From composing poems

out of the slightest sense or nuance,

to recording them

as stream-of-consciousness prose,

lie months, years and even hours of maturation

and a cold distancing of any blinding closeness;

a revelation of the collected thoughtfulness

of an age;

the period focalpoint

where art in a widespread world is clothed

in a here that reaches outwards

like Voyager I and II,

and inwards

like a reversed Big Bang,

each moment graced by its artistry;

its existential elegance,

from leaning your bike against the wall

to penetrating your lady's behind

with gusto and abandon

The moments move freely

from Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi to Bob Dylan,

without as much as looking, listening, thinking or caring

The way to loose everything lightly

with an un-owning mind,

is to leave it to it

I had to go back an read carefully... Music? Yes, of course, Bob Dylan (though I think of him more like an oldtime bard...) - and Rumi, well, one of history's most brilliant poets, from the 13th century, but most of his writings could have been written today; magic!

There is something quite magical here. You also manage to include references to music: These references are really interesting to me, because music is very often a driving influence in my own writing. But your stark realism is something quite unique.
