Macron Commemorates the End of the Second World War in Europe

The symbolism seems somewhat off. France’s
Useless leader celebrates the anniversary
Of the end of the Second World War, the largest
Ever to bring us all freedom, but there’s
Nobody else around, except the cops, who
Chase off those who’d exercise their
Hard-won rights by loudly cursing this
Awful man, and, of course, another war’s
Begun, another said to be for freedom,
Though, in fact, it’s being fought to strangle
The nation which sacrificed most to enable
This leader and those who detest him

To tell themselves they are free.

Hmm. The hypocrisy wasn't lost over here either. But then the man is the least popular French president possibly since records began! (Had a very hot reception in Lyon too! And just as in the possible protesters.) Funny (not) he is basically a 'money man' having come from the realms of finance into politics. Some say he is the Banker's puppet... If you were English and knew rhyming slang that might bring a wry smile to your lips. Blessings, Allen
