splice and sail

each word penned
a searchlight panning
deep waters with no end
thoughts: sailing vessels
propelled by unseen
wind that touches us;
emotions on calm or
troubled seas and all
that lay in between

each line interwoven
leeward or windward
horizons expanding
mast and keel are one
as sheets and pages
roar and wrest and ripple
all the while our Muse's
lips curl, blowing sure;
quills unfurl dear bard

I loved this poem; I loved the way you used the nautical metaphors to evoke the working of the muse. Bravo!
