What to Do with a November Day

I could:

Review the contract my sister has
Written regarding the woman who'll
Rent from my mother, or call back
The old friend who's left me two
Messages, both of which indicate
That she is bored and has nothing
Very important to say, or I could
Wash dishes, or gather the laundry.
I could, in other words, force the time
Onward by filling it full of quotidian
Tasks. Or I could swallow some
Poison and die.

I think that, instead, I'll just look out
The window at leaves being blown
From the trees.

Amazing! A tale as old as time, the passage of time I mean.

I love how you've framed this.

This made me fabulously jolly and full of inspiration, just as I was about to go to bed! Now I won't be able to sleep for at least an hour! Wonderful writing!

Not only a sensible decision, but one which ultimately is far less painful!!! Besides, if you poisoned yourself and died, the World would be missing a voice of truth
