i know what you want to read
but i am not going to write that
i am not going to go that way
unless you take me along
unless you dot my i's and cross my t's
i am not going to write
what you want to read.

so listen up now
hold the pencil in my hand
and teach me to write

Wow, this is so thought provoking. I think we all need this. Writing poetry is, essentially, a selfish thing, but in sharing it we reveal our hearts which is unselfish. I keep reading it over and over again!
