The log boat.....

Bored inland-Man-the landlubber,
cut-carve-
a ditch bound tree-trunk,
as a log-boat ,akin to
a tiny self-sufficient island, as
a replica of the planet-island, itself contained
in water
whence we all came, unknown is it made
or only just happened. Sea-bound, the pioneer
oceanic nomad, tide-finned, sways
with the restlessness of the
borderless sea- a flowing part of the earth itself, ever speeding by
and yet is always here as eternal now- the log-boat
as if
the movement of the waves personified, shore-sealed,
afloat, unmoored, arouses in man
the consciousness-
he too, held in the realm of life, akin to
a sole skipper
on board his tiny body-boat, on the infinite ocean of
existence.

My mind kinda moves all over the place while reading this. I find it puzzling. It actually makes me a bit uncomfortable, lol. Really nice writing. I can’t shake the image of the hollowed out tree-trunk!

Very deep (if you will excuse the unintended pun.)
