A Suicide Pact Named NATO

One wonders whether they should be described as toadies
Or as damsels in distress, these NATO nations. Weak
And trembling, fearful of a state which never threatened
Them, they stalk about behind their leader, inching toward
The borders of that state to wave their fists and sneer.
They fly off to lay waste to lands which also hadn't
Threatened them, and, in the process, prove their
Weakness, getting their poor asses kicked, and now
They sit, not so much toadies, more like ducks,
As their dim-witted leader puts them on the path
To one more war which mostly will be fought in
Their homes, not in his. Thus, they are in some
Distress. They'd surely be much safer if they
Left their leader's side.

The arrogance of the west is equal to their paranoia
