café poetics
In the café’s warm embrace,
I find beauty in conversations,
the alchemy of strangers,
where alienation fades,
and suspicion, slowly tamed,
gives way to trust—
a fragile yet fulfilling bridge.
The shopkeeper, a silent witness,
mindful of neither novice nor sage,
serves coffee brewed with care,
where literature spills from lips,
lived and learned beyond the classroom,
a gathering of souls
from ivory towers to distant homes.
But little do we know, as we sip
and words flow like a reckless stream,
the shopkeeper's true intent
is not to serve, but to recruit—
for a secret society that meets
in hidden rooms, where poetry's the scheme.
