becoming tomorrow 5 3 25

lin came into the story fully formed

and furious

knowing much   not enough

her fury was understandable   she had no say

in her creation

but came to see that none of us did

since then her anger has become a hunger for experience

for knowledge

for making the incoherence of life less so

we’re doing our best to help her understand

the everyday bits and pieces

and that which is sometimes beyond understanding

~

marketa speaks broadly   work hard   cause the least harm

keep your corner of the world tidy

love as best you can   die as peacefully as you can

the rest are details   why does the snake hiss

why is the sky blue

what is meant by ‘tomorrow’

she tells the exemplary story of the blind men

and the elephant

the importance of seeing the whole

some people think the details don’t matter

the sky ‘is’ blue

there is no need to know why

some think god is the answer   others look to science

there will never be consensus

others see it differently   ‘the devil is in the details’

~

you have to decide these things for yourself

ask questions   expect answers

if the answers ring hollow   dig deeper

some questions are beyond answers

why are we here

what is the purpose of life

these fall into the realm of philosophy

and/or religion

in which questions are posed   answers are debated

the more adamant the answer   the less likely it will suit you

be skeptical but be reasonable

don’t foist your opinions upon others

sometimes you may want to accept the illogical

because it’s comforting   that’s ok

that’s part of it

~

it’s a lot   it takes time   questions come less frequently

are more thoughtful

our answers less pedantic   more conversational

the unfolding of her intellect and passion

is something behold

we are enriched by her presence   hopefully she is by ours

it does take time   time passes   one day becomes the next

today becomes tomorrow
