People Who Feel

I had never thought so before
but today i did
That things are the
way they are
for a reason

and that its always going to be like this

People who feel for the human kind
and whose hearts are torn open
to let everyone in
and in whose eyes
the water is a film
Quite like my Grandmother
but more like my great grandmother
are destined to bear it
and carry it with grace
but not on their shoulders like Atlas
but in the pit of their stomach
as fire
to keep them warm, glowing and lit from inside
like a torch of fire when they decide to go for it

and like a luminous lamp
for those around me- far or near
The comfort of being in the light

and like a flickering flame,
which lingers and burns
tender and fierce
all at once.

your poem rises a lot of today's questions no one has ever brought to a satisfactory answer

where do we go once we are dead
do we go alone? in one piece?
