for my distant one

fields of gold

. . . and the sweet little bunnies

and fawns

their mamas nearby   watching over

in the meadow the larks and plovers

the tanagers and buntings

in the forest   unseen but heard

eva above in the clouds singing

fields of gold

while you sing harmony

swaying as you do when you recite

or make love

and i sigh   oh how i sigh

the wildflowers dance in the breeze

sky so blue

clouds so white   tall grass rippling

with the breeze   and i sigh   oh how i sigh

my sweet one

my distant one   not mine at all   only a fluttering

in my chest   a heartbeat skipped

a timpani in my soul

come hither   i whisper   and i sigh   oh how i sigh

I love the sighing, and I love the way you twist the ending, only then do we truly appreciate the dreamlike quality of this piece. Nice one.
