A TRAIN OF THOUGHT DERAILED AGAIN

So who stired the pot,
Then popped in a spot
Of dementia with alzheimer's,
Then mixed the lot.

It's not something that you can see,
For there's a stillness in the air.
A shattered thought a muddled mind,
With mixed dementia there's no rewind.

There's no putting back what once was there,
With sanity lost no time to share.
Befuddled thoughts turn into days,
As tomorrow comes more's erased.

No one can see the silent killer within,
Softly waiting always there.
Waiting to take you to where,
Life itself truly begins.

Within the synapses of a dying brain,
With a chasm opening within a mind.
A thought once thought was lost again,
My life would never be the same.

the title is very perspicacious
with a TRAIN of thoughts, the thoughts arrive on schedule ?
I always placed the brain as the prince of all the organs in the body
it must be terribly difficult for you! my mother also is ill with alzheimer's

From personal experience I know how debilitating this disease is to family and friends. What I don't know, of course, is what it is like for the sufferer, Your poem is a brave attempt at giving us an insight to your thoughts about it.
Alan, I pray you will always be able to do that.
Blessings, Allen
