I Don’t Love You

I don’t love you. I don’t care for you.
In fact, I don’t think your eyes are ocean deep,
And I don’t get lost in them like a
Shipwrecked sailor, drowning, but
With a smile. Yes, I don’t care that
Your hair falls off your scalp like a
Waterfall, and I would like to be at
The bottom washed over by it.

I don’t care that you smell like flowers
And I buzz round you like a be.
I don’t care that your skin is so soft
My fingers could melt in them.
I don’t care that our bodies fit together
Like the last two puzzle pieces left.
And I don’t care that you are so beautiful
I felt so moved to write this poem.

Ouf, one gets the impression that the "I don't care" is not really what's going on here... by the way it's described, the person it's about had an obvious effect on the one expressing these feelings. I liked the way this was presented, gives a perspective that makes the reader ponder on a deeper meaning to these words. Well, that's my impression, anyway :)
