Xmas Memories

On Christmas night:

The table’s set and food’s ready.
Feet don’t rush to fill the seats,
Instead they dawdle between steps
Until yells rush all legs to leap.

Food is chewed both slow and loud
Under a silence heavy as stars
Exploding light years away.

After dinner, everyone scurries
To their rooms. The Christmas tree,
Still naked, leans against the wall.

It sounds a little sad, this Christmas your poem describes. A memorable write. Blessings, Allen
