My Son
I found myson today-
another one from mine.
How else do you address
a handsome young man
who badly needs a space
to call his own
away from everywhere else
and from everyone
who tug on him.
He is lost in the world of words
- a world more unsafe
than the fictitous world.
He is adrift in the real world,
you see,
where people use words as
paddles to reach him
but to take him
further into the abyss.
He has forever known them
and he feels safe with them
without really
fathoming the space he is in.
People at the shore call out
to him but thats a strange place
for a few reasons.
I flew like a bird
near him
and asked him to feel free
and be in a space
where he could just be
-away from the world of words
of others or his own
and just be.
Just this much Son
as i wait for you
to hug you.
Just that.
