Joseph Disintegrates and How You Love

oh well rot on the premiss of hope
the moon's never been this damn low
and the roof's gonna cave in like papier maché
when tears of the tyrants will finally hail
and drive all the true doctors insane
and the rain's pouring down outside this church
hey minister, pour me up more hurt!
as Joseph shouts; "I'm tough tough tough,
but all that counts is how you love!"

there's a bed where the sleepless can lie
there's a shoulder where death comes to cry
and I never could quite understand what that meant
but it's probably all for the best in the end
as no one will know the meaning of me
but it all begs the question to be asked;
how far can we go on dead end tracks?
well Joseph shouts; "I'm tough tough tough,
but all that counts is how you love!"

and I planned our future before
I planned to outlive this remorse
so I stare down my glass and then Joe starts to sing
he falls like a clown but gets up like a king
"please see what I see, hear what I hear"
breaking, aching, and shaking muscles flinch
but not nearly half as much as spirits
and Joseph shouts; "I'm tough tough tough,
but all that counts is how you love!"

we'll meet up someday
when we've thrown the world away
when we've thrown the world away...
