Somebody was to gift me on this birthday, & my musings on her wish to gift me something.

The Gift.

The gift of life, is what I ask ,
In these moments of loneliness
A kiss of life that shall last,
Beyond life's unruly emptiness.

Can you? Or is it a big task,
My query is to the depth of your eyes,
A flicker of your eye & it's past
Maybe, to the occasion you shall rise.

Maybe I am right or maybe wrong,
A hopeful mind says, maybe right,
A fearful heart says, may be wrong
That look, for a fleeting moment was bright.

It's with sheer hope, that I always lived,
A kiss of life, is what I ask
And shall you, the enchantress abide,
Or is it a mirage that shall not last.

Your eyes say something to me,
There's a wild fire in your heart
The kiss of life, I can see,
An illusion may be for a start.
