sleep paralysis

a monster staring at her neck

suspended in
a demon's
pleasant dreams.

bound by cords that
scrape
away at layers
of
subconscious
horrors.

arms
stilled
and then they are
fading
away.

legs
twitching

silent
breathing.

"are you concerned
that you are in my paroxysm
of helplessness?"

pounding.

oh my god, help me
oh god, why
oh my god, make it stop

thrashing.

awakening to
a vortex
in your stomach
torn open
by something
unnameable.

(it will never,
ever
show you
any peace.)
