It is not really a ballad in form but I have tried to infuse rhythm and repetition albeit, haphazardly

The ballad of Peter Pan

I saw in that impish face
Eyes, as hard as marbles
Concealing the stirrings
Of forced forgetting
Could u not afford?
To let that wanton time linger?

Have u forgotten?
Fairies and captains,
Crumpled flowers and Child brides,
Accidents on phantom ships,
And ribbons of rain
Drowned by our raucous games

Are your fantasies slaves to you?
Or do your toes still tingle
When u hear whispers in the dark?
Do u still dream of following
Cajoling shooting lights
Or have those stars been harnessed
To fitful, forgetting stupor
