If Only

What is it in this world to find
That those who think in thoughts the kind
Which deal in that both near and far
And by design will end in war

What do they hope to gain from this
To pull the trigger, forsake the kiss
Or offer up the Judas hand
To turn the earth back into sand

We have the faith, we could be great
Our destiny, not that of fate
Don't think in years or months or hours
But grasp it now this world is ours.

A fine poem of truth, yet sadly we must continue to live on a planet where war and threats of destruction are a part of our everyday lives. If only, as you say....
Wonderful work from the pen of a dove.
