Back When

I would've liked to have known you when you ran through fields of flowers
Laughing all alone playing by yourself for hours
Back in a time when your face always wore a smile
Back when you were young and just a child
But now the only look you wear upon your face
Is a frown that looks so misplaced
You harbor your heart and hold it so deep
Projecting a longing look of pain that saddens me
You look so very empty with that expression
What happened to your beautiful smile and that coy little grin
When was it that you first frowned
Tell me where that innocent child is now
