MotherDrunk

She claimed never to have hit rock bottom
Technically I guess it was glass
She took in as much as she could swallow
Screaming obscenities at me as she laughed
She claimed she had no problem
In her eyes everything was under control
I watched her open another bottle
I watched her drink away her soul
I seen her cry for her children
You know, when the state took them away
I kind of thought she would chill out then
But she just continued to try drinking away the pain
She now sits alone on a stool belligerent
Innocence now sits frightened in a place unknown
She no longer thinks of those little children
All those sweet children can think about is going home
