SOME HAIKU

Unattached--
drops of water on
lotus leaf

Two lizards
inside the switchboard
turned on

Her birth--
a poem dancing
in the eyes

Still a child--
embracing a breast
sleeps her man

Still fresh
in the hanky's fold--
jasmine

Her presence
some alien sensation
in my veins

Stoops to set
pleats of her saree
mid-August

After the party
empty chairs in the lawn--
now moon and I

"Her birth--

that brings life to poetry, poetry to life :)

"Her presence
some alien sensation
in my veins"

this one is powerful as well, (they all are, but those two sections are the ones that speak to me the loudest)

each haiku could stand on its own as a separate poem, yet they all come together to form one longer, beautiful set of words that fit together perfectly...

rating this one with a well-deserved 5.

and off to read some more :)
