Cracked My Shell And Stole My Heart

My heart is broken in two,
Shattered into pieces.
But I don't let it show on the outside.
I don't let it peek through the cracks and holes of the outer shell.
We still talk awkwardly and laugh with hints of fakeness.
I see you talking to them,
Low shirts and tight jeans,
Too cover the ugliness within.
And I just grit my teeth and smile.
I go on with the party and meet new people
As well as people I already knew.
We jump around and sing along with the band.
Make fun of the head bangers and maushers.
My mind is free from you for the moment.
Then I come back to reality and realize,
My shell is gone and my heart is in one piece.
A friend cracked what remained of the shell away.
And stole my heart.

You are so good at sharing what is going on in your heart and mind. It is like watching a great movie with a wonderful character and many adventures and heartaches.
