I live in Erie Pa and we have two seasons here, cold and less cold.

Springtime In Erie Pennsylvania

I see my breath in the northern breeze
White and dense
Flowing around my face
It dims my view of the world
Ice covers my nose and beard
Small icicles swing as my face moves
My hair turns white
Snow hiding every shade of brown
My coat is zipped tight around my neck
A red scarf hangs down in front of me
Snow up to my knees
Makes my walking hard
My toes freeze and ache
The cold creeps though my shoes
Finding every warm spot
Hiding, it laughs at me
As I try to find one warm place
But this is Erie Pennsylvania
There is no warm place
Even though it is the end is April
Snow still falls
Ice still grows
And no one ever gets warm

you succed in your writing to take me to the places you describe and by using the active verbs one feels being part of your journey as you walk in the cold ....so now I have been to Erie Pennsylvainia ... I thank you for the tour in the cold ...:)

and I can tell you I know what you talk about ... Sweden has pretty grim cold days in winter and winter can be loooooooong .. but it is ususally gone by March .. so we are a bit luckier than you...

have a lovely Pennsylvainia Thursday ...stay warm
best wishes

I really got a kick from reading this, Rob! Cold and less cold would have been a superb title, btw.
