Indigo blue
Sighs fill the air,

O Natal Moon

O natal moon
In cloud swept sky,

Give a reason
For the leaves to fly,

Father oak is crying the loss,
Of branches wig,
And evening cloak.

Indigo blue
Sighs fill the air,

As the gentle wind
Rustles your chestnut hair.

Standing in moonlit meadow,
Under the evening sky,

Single star is twinkling,
Catching this lovers eye.

Tis beauty that surrounds us,
And love of night abounds,

As we find a lovers respite,
On this moonlit ground.

I hold you in my arms,
And to you I only cleave.

To keep you from the blowing,
Of the lonely leaf.
