E-love

It is funny
Words on a screen
No more than a points of dark against light
I wait for them
Clicking my mouse
Opening my mail
Reopening it again and again
I see ads by the hundreds
Wanting to sell me everything
Nothing I want
Nothing I need
I wait
The computer hums
The screensaver kicks on and off
An IM appears from Italy
I see it but I ignore it
I can't take a chance
I may miss that one letter
Hours pass
Night turns to day
Yet I wait
My eyes droop as sleep attacks my senses
As they close I start to dream
I can see her picture in my dreams
My mind wanders
Still waiting
Finally a beep
I see her name
My finger rushes to open it
Finally after weeks of writing
Hours of waiting
I get the ten numbers I have desired for so long
My fingers fumble
Tones make a musical sound
She answers
"Hello"
My heart melts at the word
My emotions overflow
I know that now
I have reached Heaven
I have touched Nirvana
I have found my soul mate
In just one word

wow! what a grand poem about cyber love. Those moments seems like years as we sit in waiting and then hours fly by in mere seconds. I love this. it is bookmarked.
