What Know I?

What know I of passions love song
Or the scent on fevered brows
Of secret assignations
In midnight gardens under boughs
Of lovers soft and whispered words
That seek anothers ear
To caress sweet lips in moonlight
Of the one you hold so near
What know I of hearts that beat as one
To the tune of souls entwined
Wrapped in the arms of angels
Of a spirit now confined
What know I the bitterness of heartache
Or the pain of shattered glass
Of the loves I've lost upon the cross
I've carried in my past
They are all a part of loves sweet dream
The path we walk along
Paved with tears and ecstasy
To a love that will be strong.

I enjoy the sort of rhetorical question, liek searching within, realyzing he either has experienced those things, or has wished to experience them. You're left completely to guess, but that's just why it's so grand.

Does he really know?

I think so...

Great work!

Beauty graces this bittersweet poem. It is one that has caused me to read it again and again. bookmarked
