Just thought i would like to say something as it is rememberance sunday.

Let us remember.

Letus remember the fallen
The soil on which they lay
Far away from their homeland
Cut down upon the day

In defence of their country
For the freedom of all
The every day hero's
That answered the call

Shopkeepers, bellboys
And those from the farms
Neighbours and loved ones
Now comrades in arms

With courage and valour
Through hardship and strife
For the love of their country
They gave up their life

In the hope of a new world
A much better place
In times still to come
That our children be safe.

A soldier fights and kills enemies of peace, risking his own life. It is the politicians who aggravate WAR and destroy PEACE everywhere.

Peace is an important subject in every matter. Including politics.

Brilliant poem, it really fills up the gap!

Well done Penfold, how great are you to write a poem for today's memories and tales of unimaginable valour. Makes me cry, all the veterans' stories.

Amen!
Ihope,
there is never
any more wars
so there are no more slain
no more fatherless children
no more motherless in chains
no more misery and no more blood
where all men live as brothers
will that day ever come?

Just a thought!

(((hugs)))
