The past at last is what it is.

Shattered pieces.

My life laid bare before you
My soul for all to see
A heart that bleeds, now broke in two
And never to be free

How can i live this awful lie
This battlefield of shame
The constant fight to live or die
With no one else to blame

How is it love can hurt so much
The cause of so much pain
We reach out with our hearts to touch
As a moth drawn to a flame

It can lift us to ecstatic heights
Or drown us in its sorrow
It blinds us with consuming light
No thoughts about tomorrow

Love is a risk, like random dice
It knows no bounds at all
It touchs everyone in life
And shatters those that fall.

Everytime i read another of your poems i just sigh...you are such a gifted poet and i am in awe. This one is so very open and touching. Excelllent in every way.

I love this type of poem, sad, bittersweet, yet lovely. We seem to write in much the same style...as you will see as i add more to the site.
