Sunny Days.

Sunny days and azure skys

Hedgerow sparrows and dragonflies

Squirrels are leaping everywhere

Eating nuts with some to spare

The magpie looking so aloof

Has settled on the garage roof

Intimidating all around

With cold eyed stare and not a sound

The doves look on with furtive glances

While on the lawn the blackbird prances

Picking here and picking there

He passes life without a care

And sitting here I can only say

Is there a better way to pass the day.

I'd say not, penfold
These days of yore
will never grow old
as long as your
pen has ink too unload. lol :)

Doves will never look as innocent to me again! This very enjoyable whimsical look at (non-human) animals reminds me of Simon & Garfunkel's great old song "At the Zoo."

I know what you mean - sometimes I can just sit and watch the birds and wildlife for hours. I love it when the squirrels come into the garden and play.
