I have taken in a rescue cat and its kitten, think I'm going soft in the head, but they were so sweet.

Tigers In Minature.

Hey, hey, the day is grey
The black clouds reappear
Its time to put my feet up
And have a can of beer

The kittens in the basket
Its mother fast asleep
No more reeking havoc
As up the curtains they do creep

At last a break, a time for peace
No more nipping at my toe's
Or climbing legs like everest
With pin like teeth and tiny claws

A tiger now in minature
He loves to fly around
To hide behind the plant pots
Then jump out in leaps and bounds

They really are the sweetest pair
To watch them is a treat
But its good to have some peace at last
And watch them fall asleep.

M Heathcote
I once visited a second-hand basement book shop in Manchester
and was asked did I want a kitten that had just been abandoned in the shop
that morning; I took one look at this tortoise shell kitten and it melted my heart.
So I then took it home and called it penguin after the books.
It made a great family pet but was short lived, hope yours make
good pets but avoid the road traffic! Nice poem by the way...

Although I'm most definitely not a cat fan, I could never hurt one, and it's good to know that there are people like you who are willing to take care of our fellow travellers on this planet.
Lovely writing again, I think that you have a rare talent, and you have restored my faith in poetbay with your very kind comments on my "poems." It was beginning to feel that no-one was interested in my work. Many thanks. Normalil.
