Just doodling to pass the time.

Ivy Dear.

Ivy dear you have my heart

You decorate my home

And though by nature you are sweet

I know you love to roam

You bask in sunshine, worship rain

And ask for nothing in return

Though others would try and pull you down

And gladly watch you burn

But I will not desert you

And never let you fall

For I will trim you every year

As you grow up my wall.

Lovely poem again Graham. I'm sorry to say that I cut down my ivy last year. It was pulling all the mortar out of the wall, and had actually invaded the house! I felt a bit guilty, but there was nothing else to be done. (You should have seen the size of the spiders that came scuttling out, wow!)
