I Want To Be

I want to be the burning ember
Glowing in your eyes
The inspiration in the smile you
Never can disguise

I want to be the beating pulse that
Pumps throughout your veins
The bucking bronco snorting fire when
You take hold the reins

I want to be the passioned rush of
Love's adrenaline
The tempting taboo drawing you to
Revel in its sin

I want to be the one to turn to
When your lights go down
The one to come to when you're wanting
No one else around

I want to be the ray of sunshine
Waking up your day
The sunset's warm enveloping each
Time it fades away

I want to be the favored pillow
Of your weary head
The warmer blanket you reach for when
Curling up in bed

I want to be your cloaking shadow
When you've had enough
The shiny beacon guiding you when
Seas are blowing rough

But most of all I want to be the
Thief who stole your heart
The penance for my thievery
With you I'd never part

Truly one of the most romantic poems I have ever read. It beats out such passion and devotion....utterly beautiful. Isn't this what every woman or man desires to hear?
