My resue cat was killed outside my house on monday morning and the driver could not even be bothered to stop.

LOLA.

Your love was unconditional

All your trust you put in me

Yet still I saw it in your eyes

That yearning to be free

And though I never stopped you

I knew it would end in tears

Together for such a short time

That which I thought

Would be for years

As I wrapped my arms around you

We never got to say goodbye

A backward glance was all I had

And then you left to die

Your kitten crys for you at night

My heart feels fit to burst

But I shall raise him as my own

And the driver I shall curse.

I like cats , as they are the one wild anamal , that lets us get close to. The cat chaoses us , we dont chosse the cat. It will stay or go as it wills. So when a cat's time is up , then we loose a freind , that desired to put up with us! So the cats parting herts that bit more , as the cat is our equal in it's way.
Well writ , Graham .

I too have had cats killed on the roads and it breaks my heart - I have two cats at the moment, one of whom bares the scars from when he was hit by a car. Fortunately the driver did stop, it turned out that he had had his cat killed on the roads too. Cats are such independent creatures - you have to allow them freedom and roads and cars are risks. I so sympathise with you, the pain of losing a beloved pet is great because they do give such unconditional love.
