The Eagle

The eagle it watches,
Like we are it's prey,
Ready to snag you,
And lock you away.

You were a good guy,
This is all fucked up,
You're now in the car,
In a set of cuffs.

You were innocent,
You're still locked away,
The eagle was hungry,
You were it's prey.

They sent you down,
For murder one,
They never found,
Your prints on the gun.

Now you're locked,
Away so far,
Your kids come see you,
They speak through the bars.

Your kids they ask you,
Are you coming home,
It would kill them,
If the truth was known.

You're only 38,
With sixty to spend,
The eagle has brought,
Your life to an end.

So I say to you,
Watch your back,
For the eagle sneaks up,
Before an attack.
