Ego And The Self

I can no longer bear the pain,
my mind is going insane.
It is time to prove myself,
to the ever questioning world.

All alone, i go out to fight,
pondering why god has not shown me light.
It is so cold and dark in here,
haunting and creepy around.

Out of fear,i ask myself, should i step back?
'no' says the ever firm ego.
Have to reach the goal distant away.
somewhat visible yet not very clear.

As i move on,in me i fell a surge of energy,
mind and body in meditative synergy.
rejuvenating the hopes of making it,
Win, i will,i will.

The ego is taking so much pride,
trying to make me blind.
But the heart questions the self
What have you proved?
you were bound to win,
i have no answer.
