A Woman's Cry

I am a woman!
I grew up knowing nothing but pain
For a woman is taught nothing alse
I must mind my own place

He raped me so I could stay here,
I had to respect him with all that I am,
A man who inflicted me with so much pain,
Is this stranger that I call my husband

What happened to the teachings,
"A woman is fragile like a flower"?
Suddenly, she is hards as a rock,
Wake up at dawn, nothing else to do but work

My heart is heavy with sorrow,
My in-laws mock me every morrow,
I graze with the cows
That is what a barren does!

I want to go home,
But where is home for me?
I want to die with the setting of the sun,
I am tired, this race I can no longer run!
