Lucky Death

I see now how it begins this ending...
Slowly people known forever begin to pale
And falter...
The laughter remains undiminished but
The outsides and the innards quietly become
Unsuited to life.
The ease of youth meanders to a meanness but
Sweetly somehow the spirit turns svelte
And sonorous.
Then the syncopation ceases...
If we have a lucky death.

I will worry about these things tomorrow. For the time being I must syncopate!! :-)

aww, gee Linda, thanks for cheering me up.
no, really, this is a very good poem....only it sharpens the focus on some things I would rather not think about but do. You penned it well.
