could you love someone
beyond their pale blue eyes
not just because they recognise
those parts of you
that no one else can

could you love them
when they start
to find the places in your heart
and see those pieces
you don't want them to

would you treat them
like someone new
forget what you've been through
and give them
a love we all deserve

could you be that sharp
with your mind
so never would it blind
the moments you share
that belong to only you two

if you can do this
for just the one
then it means you have begun
to know what love is
now you can share it with the whole world

I would like to think I could say, Yes, to all of these verses in purest poetic love. It's a hard question, but when we get the right answer, the world is our loving oyster.
