My Friend The Junkie

So now you exchange
the common for the strange
freedom for the chains
of living for your veins
at nights instead of days
there are endless ways
in this hazy maze
to repeat the chase
and break through your skin
with a needle of heroin

And I ask myself why
you have this urge to sink down in a high
just to get by
Don't you know that you will die?

So take my advice
and stop playing dice
with your body and your mind
You don't know what you will find
The sun will never shine
you'll never reach cloud nine
It's just a waste of time
living in a grime
breaking through your skin
with a needle of heroin

So I ask myself why
you have this urge to sink down in a high
just to get by
Don't you know that you will die?

There's no way to quit
as you may see fit
You've fallen of the wagon
as you chase the dragon
And lost all control
of your body and your soul
down a endless hole
Never find a goal
breaking through your skin
with a needle of heroin

So I ask myself why
you have this urge to sink down in a high
just to get by
Don't you know that you will die?

Written with truth and honesty, I liked the repetition it worked well. It's a sad and miserable road to go down, well portrayed.
